An Invitation to Membership
|
TO the woman who finds meaning in her church and is
drawn to its fellowship,
WHOSE life is packed full of activity and obligations,
WHO struggles with loneliness or meaningless tasks,
WHO is juggling jobs and family and trying to be faithful to both,
WHO seems overburdened with the traditional role of care giver,
WHO feels she has gifts which are wasted or undeveloped,
WHO needs a supportive community to affirm her own sense of purpose
and commitment to God...

Our purpose:

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community
of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom
as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
To develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and
To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global
ministries of the church.

Monthly Ladies Breakfast
|
The women of First United Methodist Church meet monthly for breakfast
at various restaurants (watch the First Chimes and the Bulletin
for changes in locations) at 9:00am.
September 28th meeting is at Walking Stick Restaurant, 9 am

Why Don't you join?
|
Joining this group of committed women is a unique opportunity -
no matter who you are or where in your life you are at this moment
- - to move in harmony with other women who have been responding
to this PURPOSE for over one hundred years.
There are no dues as such. Each woman makes a pledge to support
the U.M.W. activities and giving. You do not have to belong to a
Circle.

United Methodist Women Circles
|
NAOMI CIRCLE
|
meets on the 2nd Tuesday at 9:30am in homes of members. Their circle
meets for Bible study and fellowship.

REBECCA CIRCLE
|
meets on the 2nd Tuesday at 9:30am in the Co-op Classroom in the
Education Building at the Church. Programs and devotions by members.
|
REVIEWERS CIRCLE
|
meets on the 2nd Thursday at 9:30am in homes of members. Members
review books of Christian interest.
|
|
The General Meeting of United Methodist Women meets quarterly on
the 3rd Thursday beginning at 10:00am in the Parlor. Devotions and
a special program of interest to women is followed by a luncheon
in Booth Hall served by one of the Circles. We encourage all women
to join U.M.W.
|
