Leadership

Here at First Church we encourage newcomers to get involved in the many ministries of our church. Here are a few ways you can become involved in the worship service. Call the Church Office at 544-1917 to volunteer for any of these areas of ministry or for more information.

Acolyte:

Children 3rd grade to 5th grade are Acolytes for either the 8:30 am or 11:00 am service, September through May. Training is held every August for incoming 3rd graders or new children to our congregation. New children are always welcome to join. Susie Enck  is the Coordinator.

Greeters:

Greeters are a very important part of our ministry. They greet people and welcome them to our worship services.

Communion helpers:

Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.

Lay Liturgist:

Lay Liturgists are needed at both the 8:30am and 11:00am worship services. They read the community readings, the scripture, and announce the hymns. They may volunteer to help with communion if they sign up for the first Sunday. Sherrie Goorley  is the coordinator

Ushers:

Here at First Church ushers are an integral part of all worship services. Couples and/or singles are encouraged to become ushers.  Any and all volunteers are encouraged, just call the Church Office at 544-1917.

Grocery Certificate Coordinator

This program is of great value to the life of First UMC. When you purchase certificates you do not spend any more on groceries than if you pay cash for them, but the church receives 5% of each certificate sold. That profit is used in a wide variety of ways here at First Church.
