educationChristian Education is a vital part of First United Methodist Church ministry in Pueblo. Classes for all ages offer opportunities to explore our faith, discover other faith traditions, and fulfill the classic Methodist traditions of continued learning. Classes are available on Sunday mornings from 9:45 – 10: 45 am for all ages groups:

  • Pre-School 3 – 5 years
  • Kindergarten/1st grade
  • Grades 2 & 3
  • Grades 4 & 5
  • Middle School
  • Senior High
  • Adult

Special Classes and Information for Children and Youth

Confirmation All students in grades 6-12 are welcome.  We will explore what it means to be a Christian and a United Methodist.  We will meet weekly from January through April during the Sunday School hour (9:45 – 10:45am – Sundays).  Students will have the opportunity to join the church in early May, at the completion of the course.  Please contact the church office 719-544-1917 for more information.
Scholarships  Scholarships are available to members and children of FUMC. Click here for more information.
Children’s Choir All children in Kindergarten through grade 6 are invited to join the Children’s Choir. We will begin practice at 8:45 am on Sunday, September 11th.  We hope to see you there! Please contact the church office if you have questions.

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

Co-op Class Gives money, time, and energy to many causes and occasionally meets for social events.  Several class members take turns teaching the lesson and leading music.
Informal Bible Study Study led by Rev. Tom Barlow includes reading of the scriptures with warm, lively, and sometimes challenging discussion.
Issues & Choices Focuses on current events and the challenges of living the Christian faith in daily life. Class members help choose the topics for study and lead discussions.
Searchers We use video sessions designed to strengthen our faith followed by discussion.  A monthly social event is also held.
Beth Moore Class Beth Moore is an author and Bible teacher of best-selling Bible studies. Beth’s mission is to guide people everywhere into a richer, more fulfilling relationship with the Father.
Developing Life Together  Developing Life Together is a class that will help the most dynamic small group experience all of God’s five-purposes, with Sunday School material.developing_life_together
Praise Café After first service, enjoy a hot drink, donut and informal conversation. Proceeds from donations go to support a variety of church projects.
